Connecting to a switchboard
This telephone may be connected to most types of switchboard, however in the event of
any difficulties, consult your switchboard Service Provider.
Dialling mode
Your BT Freelance XD 1500/1550 is set to Tone dialling. Some older switchboards may
require Pulse dialling. To change the dialling mode, see Dial Mode,
page 46.
Flash duration
Your BT Freelance is set to a Flash duration of 100ms (RECALL 1) If you are having
problems transferring calls when connected to a switchboard, change this to 600ms
(RECALL 2).
Access code and entering a pause
Some internal switchboards may require you to enter an access code (e.g. 9) to get an
outside line. So that the switchboard has time to pick up an outside line before the rest
of the number is dialled, you may need to add a pause in the dialling sequence.
For example: 9
P 0870 605 8047.
1. After the access code, press to insert a pause before entering the telephone number.
The display shows P.
